There's No Place Like Home

I am sooo happy I got to go to Historic Garden Week in Lynchburg Virginia!
Even though this house is not on the tour it's one of my favorites.
I grew up in this area and have always admired the architecture and gardens.

A springtime bouquet at its best at the Frantz house.

The home of Dr. and Mrs. David Frantz.

Another entrance to the Frantz house.

Don't you love these gates on Madison Street?

This is the home of Rie and Eddie Godsey.
Great terrace for entertaining guests.

 Love bleeding hearts and pansies!

Madison Street garden.

The home of Anne Taylor and Joe James.
A lovely place to have your morning coffee.
Lynchburg will always have a special place in my heart.

Golly Bard Paintings

black swan and water lily bog
I've been wanting to tell you about this great artist who shares my design studio.
Her real name is Holly Bimba and I love the fact that she takes all of her paintings from nature,
gives them a little twist and turns them into a whimsical fairytale.

perched in the soul
I love the sweet gentle love between these two doves.

Allée of Trees II
And I just love this period! It gives me hope for spring and gardening.

The Joy of Living in Virginia

I've been very busy with work and neglected my poor little blog. Sorry blog!
And I became obsessed with Pinterest- Oh dear! I really am back now. I promise!

A few weeks ago I took a day trip to Mount Vernon

Mount Vernon, our first President George Washington's plantation,
is a beautiful and inspiring classical home and garden.

I love the simplicity and layout of these buildings.

If you are ever in the Washington, DC area, I highly recommend visiting this beautiful home.
You won't be disappointed!
